The Hager red is a blend of Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Pinot Noir. The harmonious interplay of these red wines, the special care of the vineyard and the proper accompaniment of the wine in the cellar, created this high-quality cuvée. Specifically the Pinot Noir requires highest quality layers (sparse, flächenhaltige gneiss weathering soils with southern slope orientation). After thorough selection by hand and spontaneous fermentation, the Hager Rot was allowed to ripen for 18 months in small used oak barrels and was then filled into the bottle. It is a dense, fruity red wine with soft tannins and a long finish. It goes well with venison, cheese and is also a solo treat.
